Dear Amigonian Charismatic Family
With the theme “Lives that are seeds of mercy,” the whole Amigonian Charismatic Family celebrates, once again, our Amigonian Month: a time that allows us to grow in communion, remembering the legacy entrusted to our family, which we must continue to make visible today in the Church and in the society where we are present.
This month is inspired by the life, work and mission of our father Luis Amigó, and this year coincides with two events of great ecclesial and charismatic importance:
800 years
Celebration of the Transitus of Saint Francis of Assisi, in communion with the whole Franciscan Family.
25 years
Beatification of our Martyred Sisters and Brothers: 19 Amigonian religious, 3 Capuchin Tertiary Sisters, and one lay collaborator of the Grupo Antoniano of Torrent, patroness of the Amigonian Co-workers.
This fifth edition of the Amigonian Month will once again be a privileged time to renew the gift of fraternity that unites and identifies us, and to deepen the richness and relevance of our charism.
Three words, one same path
Life
Refers to the witnessing life of Saint Francis of Assisi, of father Luis Amigó and of the blessed martyrs — but also to the life of each person who makes up the Amigonian Charismatic Family.
Seed
Something small, simple, plain, vulnerable, and called, as the Gospel tells us, to be transformed so that the plant and the fruit may spring forth; to reach the fullness of what it is called to be.
Mercy
Key to our charism: the love shared from the heart, acknowledging our own weaknesses and those of others; the love that becomes fraternity and lowers itself to pain until it becomes one with the other and recognizes in them the presence of God.
What we seek this month
- To grow in the sense of belonging and communion among all the groups of the Amigonian Charismatic Family.
- To strengthen Amigonian identity, highlighting our charismatic mission within the universal Church.
- To reflect on how our Franciscan-Amigonian charism contributes to a merciful Church that builds fraternity and peace.
- To spread and make visible the life, work and charism of our Venerable Father Luis Amigó.
- To celebrate together the joy of sharing a common charism open to the most vulnerable.
- To foster the participation of children, adolescents and young people with close, dynamic language.

Spiritual Component
Eucharistic celebrations
- October 4 — Commemoration of the 800th anniversary of the death of Saint Francis. Rome, Italy · United with the whole Franciscan Family · Online broadcast.
- October 18 — Anniversary of the Founding Father's baptism and closing of the Amigonian Month. Central America, Costa Rica · Pre-recorded, streamed broadcast.
Liturgical celebrations
- Celebration in each community, with emphasis on the virtue of mercy (the liturgy will be sent as a PDF document for printing).
- A special day of prayer and reflection in each community and apostolic work, inviting deeper reflection on our life as a seed of mercy.
- Intercontinental Amigonian Rosary (virtual), with the participation of different regions or demarcations: an invitation to light a virtual candle and pray the rosary for the communion of the Amigonian Charismatic Family.

Artistic and Cultural Component
Amigonian short story contest
- “Once Upon an Amigonian World” — encourages creativity, reflection and expression around the values that characterize the Amigonian charism: welcome, mercy, compassion, closeness and inclusion.
- Before July 31 — publication of local winners in each category, according to the contest rules already sent.
- September 15 — virtual publication of the 10 finalists in each category; popular voting closes on Tuesday, October 1.
- Monday, October 17 — virtual awards ceremony.
The submitted works may become part of an ongoing project, adapted into different formats — storytelling, music, illustration or other expressions — always within the cultural, educational and institutional sphere.

Intellectual and Experiential Component
Amigonian Minute
- Daily broadcast on YouTube and social media of the “Amigonian Minute” on mercy, inspired by Saint Francis of Assisi, Luis Amigó and the Amigonian Martyrs — produced each day in a different country of Amigonian presence.
2026 Webinars · short conversations with two guests
- September 15 — “Lives at the service of mercy”: greeting and opening of the Amigonian Month, with Sr. Blanca Nidia Bedoya Salazar (Superior General, HTC) and Fr. José Ángel Lostado Fernández (Superior General, RTC).
- September 22 — “Lives consecrated to mercy.” From Colombia.
- September 29 — “Lives that multiply mercy.” From Central America.
- October 11 — “Lives that make mercy visible.” From Europe.
