Amigonian Month is a time dedicated to honoring and reflecting on the life and work of Fray Luis Amigó, a key figure in the history of our Congregations. His commitment to education and care for the most vulnerable has left an indelible mark that deserves to be studied and deeply understood. During this month, we organize various activities and events aimed at highlighting the significance of his legacy and promoting a deeper understanding of his historical and spiritual impact. We have scheduled a series of activities from September 15 to October 18 of this year.

Join us and celebrate Amigonian identity
To Our Amigonian Charismatic Family
Under the theme “Amigonian Charismatic Family: Pilgrims and witnesses of hope on mission”, we will celebrate a spiritually, ecclesially, and socially significant event for our family: the Amigonian Month, within the Jubilee that calls us to open the doors of our hearts to hope and renewal, living it with gratitude, communion, and a renewed mission.
This year, inspired by Pope Francis’ invitation to live as “pilgrims of hope”, we will celebrate it by renewing our commitment as an ecclesial family, where each member plays a role in praising God the Creator and building a fraternity that brings hope. As followers of Luis Amigó, we are called to embody this through our Franciscan-Amigonian spirituality, bringing closeness and solidarity where it is most needed.
The official launch of the Amigonian Charismatic Family will take place during these festive days, in the light of our ecclesial commitment to “walk together”, thus forming a family that grows and strengthens its fraternal bonds, integrating:
Capuchin Tertiary Sisters, Capuchin Tertiary Religious Brothers, lay people, devotees, youth, and children committed to our mission.
This will be a privileged opportunity to renew the bonds of communion that identify us and to deepen the richness of our charism.
Objetives:
Deepen our commitment as active members of the Church, pilgrims united by hope.
Strengthen Amigonian identity, highlighting our mission within the universal Church.
Reflect on how our Franciscan-Amigonian charism contributes to a Church of hope and communion.
Promote the life and work of our Venerable Father Luis Amigó, building networks of unity, solidarity, and peace.
Celebrate and spread Amigonian values: fraternity, mercy, humility, hope, service.
Foster communion and a sense of belonging among religious men, women, and lay people, through simple yet profound activities.
Carry out the official launch of the Amigonian Charismatic Family.
Encourage the participation of children, adolescents, and youth with accessible and dynamic language.
During this month, from September 14 to October 18, we will commemorate key dates that invite us to reflect and celebrate.
Spiritual Component:
The heart of Amigonian Month beats to the rhythm of faith. Through Eucharistic celebrations, communal prayer spaces, adoration, and moments of contemplative silence, we seek to renew our experience of God through the Amigonian charism. These spiritual encounters invite us to deepen our Christian identity and allow ourselves to be transformed by the Gospel, following in the footsteps of Saint Francis and Father Luis Amigó.

Knowledge lights the path of faith. During this month, a series of dialogue-based webinars will be offered to nourish both critical thinking and spirituality. Through the sharing of charismatic reflections, theological studies, and pastoral experiences, we open spaces for conversation that strengthen our understanding of the world and our commitment to the Amigonian mission.
Webinars 2025
1. “Being Young and Living with Hope: The Legacy of Luis Amigó Today”
Saturday, September 20 (Streaming – Online)
“When Father Luis Amigó began this adventure of the heart in the 19th century, he probably didn’t imagine that his charism would still ignite flames in young hearts over a hundred years later. This gathering is born from the desire to look forward with youthful eyes, without losing our roots, but projecting hope. Today, we want to listen to those who are the present and the future of the Amigonian charism. They don’t just carry the legacy—they recreate it. In them, the young face of our charism becomes a living testimony that hope is not an idea, but a way of being in the world.
Let us listen, then, to the voices of young people who today embody the Amigonian charism as witnesses of hope and continuity. As Pope Francis said in Christus Vivit n.178, “Young people are the now of God.””
2. “Walking with the Vulnerable: Amigonian Mission on the Peripheries”
Saturday, September 27 (Streaming – Online)
“Mission is not a destination, it is a way of walking. This is how Father Luis Amigó lived it, and how today brothers, sisters, lay men and women all over the world—especially in the peripheries—make tenderness and justice present. To be prophets does not mean predicting the future, but reading the present through God’s eyes and announcing a hope that does not disappoint.
In this gathering, we will hear voices of those who live the mission with radicality, sensitivity, and commitment. Let us reflect on our commitment to the peripheries through educational and social mission as a prophetic expression of the Amigonian charism, guided by Evangelii Gaudium n.20–24 on ‘a Church that goes forth,’ and by the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989) as an ethical framework for educational action.”
3. “A Life Offered with Hope”: Testimony of the Venerable Sr. Inés Arango Velásquez
Saturday, October 4 (Streaming – Online)
“There are lives that make no noise, yet echo forever. Sister Inés Arango Velázquez lived her consecration as a silent offering, deeply committed to the Gospel and to the little ones. In a context of marginalization and fragility, her fidelity became testimony. This gathering is meant to be a grateful remembrance, and above all, a seed of hope for those who see in her a humble yet powerful beacon.
Let us deepen our understanding of the martyrdom and witness dimension of Amigonian life as a hopeful surrender, inspired by Christifideles Laici on the vocation of the laity to Christian witness and the canonization process as a sign of lived faith in the ordinary.”
4. “Witnesses of Hope: The Living Wisdom of Our Elders”
Saturday, October 11 (Streaming – Online)
“We live in times where novelty often seems more valuable than depth. However, in our Amigonian family, we recognize that the wisdom of our elders is a lamp we do not wish to extinguish. This gathering is intended as a tribute and a moment of listening—because hope is also written with wrinkles, with memory, with hands that may no longer work as before, but still bless.
Let us pay tribute to those who have consecrated their lives to the Amigonian charism and who continue to be a living presence of wisdom, memory, and hope. As Fratelli Tutti n.195 states: ‘A society that discards the elderly carries within it the virus of death.’”
Artistic and Cultural Component
Creativity is also a way of evangelizing and making our identity visible. In this Month of Amigonianity, art is expressed through a digital exhibition on social media under the theme: “Amigonian Charismatic Family: Pilgrims and witnesses of hope on mission.”
Illustrations, photographs, and inspiring phrases will be shared as a testimony of our active hope, our charismatic experience, and the missionary commitment that unites us as a great family. This collective exhibition seeks to make visible—through symbols and images—the heart of our spirituality and mission in the world.
